  • eggs - 4 item
  • vanilla - 2 tsp
  • salt - 2 tsp
  • chopped nuts - 2 c
  • flour - 3 c
  • brown sugar
  • soda - 2 tsp
  • chocolate chips
  • hot water - 2 tsp
  • oatmeal - 4 c
  • white sugar
  • shortening soft - 2 c

How to make oatmeal chocolate chip cookies:

Sift flour with soda and salt. Cream shortening with sugars and add eggs. Beat well. Add hot water and vanilla. Mix in dry ingredients, nuts, chocolate chips and oatmeal. Drop by teaspoons on greased cookie sheet; bake at 375° for 8 to 10 minutes. Makes large batch.
