Ingredients/Components
- cinnamon - 1/2 tsp
- eggs - 2 item
- milk - 2 3
- chopped nuts - 1 c
- flour
- brown sugar - 1 c
- coconut - 1 c
- soda - 1 tsp
- margarine - 1/2 c
- hot water
- white sugar - 1 c
- uncooked quick oats - 1 c
- Cream together the margarine, brown sugar and white sugar
How to make oatmeal cake:
Add hot water to oats and let stand while mixing other ingredients. Cream together the margarine, brown sugar and white sugar. Add eggs. Combine flour, soda and cinnamon and add to sugar mixture; add oatmeal mixture and blend. Pour batter into greased 13 x 9 x 2-inch pan. Bake in preheated 350° oven for 30 minutes. Add topping. Serves 12 to 15.Topping:3/4 c. margarine3/4 c. brown sugar2 or 3 Tbsp. milk1 c. coconut1 c. chopped nuts Combine margarine, sugar and milk; heat to boiling for 1 minute.
