Ingredients/Components
- vanilla - 1 tsp
- pkg
- butter - 1/2 lb
- confectioners sugar - 1 lb
- flaked coconut - 1 lb
- chopped walnuts - 1 c
- unsweetened chocolate squares - 4 oz
- can sweetened condensed milk 1/2 c - 1/2 oz
- x 1 x 1/2-inch piece paraffin wax - 2 item
How to make mounds balls:
Chocolate Coating:1 (12 oz.) pkg. semi-sweet chocolate chips4 oz. unsweetened chocolate squares2 x 1 x 1/2-inch piece paraffin wax You will also need round wooden toothpicks and styrofoam sheets.In mixing bowl, cream together butter and sugar. Add coconut, milk, walnuts and vanilla; stir until blended. Chill until slightly firm; roll into walnut size balls. Insert a toothpick in each ball. Place balls on a cookie sheet; freeze. In double boiler over simmering water, melt chocolate chips, chocolate squares and paraffin wax. Keep warm over hot water. Using toothpicks as handles, dip frozen balls into chocolate mixture. Stick toothpicks upright onto wax paper-covered styrofoam sheet. Chill until firm. Remove picks and place in individual paper liners. May also be frozen.
