Monkey bread
Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 3/4 c
- eggs - 3 item
- salt
- flour - 7 c
- oil - 3/4 c
- warm water - 2 c
- sticks oleo - 2 item
- yeast - 2 pkg
How to make monkey bread:
Dissolve yeast in water. Add sugar, salt, eggs, oil and 3 1/2 cups flour; beat well. Gradually add rest of flour. Knead well. Let rise until doubled (about 2 hours). Knead again a few times. Roll out to 1/4-inch thickness on floured surface and cut like dumplings. Dip each piece into melted oleo and drop into tube pan helter skelter (use 2 tube pans or can use cake pans). Let rise until doubled (about 1 hour). Bake at 350° for 30 to 40 minutes. Delicious.Use quick-rising yeast to cut all rising time in half. Bread does not need to be cut as it will just pull apart.
