Mom's macaroni and cheese
Ingredients/Components
- milk - 1 c
- butter - 4 Tbsp
- cornstarch - 2 Tbsp
- warm water - 2 c
- shredded sharp Cheddar cheese - 1 c
- salt and pepper - 1 item
- macaroni - 1 c
- dash of Worcestershire - 1 item
- bread crumbs optional
How to make mom's macaroni and cheese:
Combine macaroni in 2 cups warm water. Microwave for 4 minutes on High. Stir. Microwave 4 minutes more. Stir again. Mix cornstarch with milk. Heat milk and cornstarch mixture with butter until butter melts; stir to prevent lumping, then add cheese and mustard. Stir well. Add salt and pepper to taste. Combine mixture with macaroni in casserole dish. Bake until cheese melts. Dot bread crumbs with butter. Brown in oven until butter melts.Recipe categories: Main dish, Ground beef, Elbow macaroni.
