Molasses crinkles
Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 1 c
- cinnamon - 1 tsp
- salt - 1/2 tsp
- soda - 2 tsp
- egg - 1 item
- shortening - 3/4 c
- molasses - 1/4 c
- ginger - 1/2 tsp
- sifted flour - 2 c
- cloves - 1/2 tsp
How to make molasses crinkles:
Cream shortening and sugar together. Add molasses and egg; beat well. Sift remaining ingredients together and add to first mixture. Mix well, cover and chill.Form into 1-inch balls and roll in granulated sugar. Place on greased cookie sheets, about 2-inches apart. Bake in moderate oven (375°) for 8 to 10 minutes. Makes 48 cookies.
