Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 2 c
- eggs - 4 item
- vanilla - 3 tsp
- chopped nuts - 1 c
- cocoa - 1/3 c
- sticks margarine - 2 item
- shortening - 1 c
- dash of salt - 1 item
- self-rising flour
- Pet milk - 1/2 c
- Icing:1 box powdered sugar
- small bag small marshmallows - 1 item
How to make mississippi mud cake:
Icing:1 box powdered sugar2 sticks margarine1/2 c. Pet milk1/2 c. cocoa1 c. chopped nuts1 tsp. vanilla Cream the sugar and shortening. Add eggs; beat. Sift flour, cocoa and salt together. Add to mixture. Add vanilla and nuts. Mix well. Pour into greased and floured 13 x 9-inch oblong pan. Bake 35 to 40 minutes at 300°. Take out of oven and spread marshmallows over top of cake. Put back in oven for about 5 minutes. Take out of oven and ice over marshmallows.Icing: Sift sugar and cocoa. Mix with melted margarine, milk, vanilla and nuts. Spread over cake. Let stand for a couple of hours. Cut in squares.
