Ingredients/Components

  • sugar - 2 c
  • vanilla - 1 tsp
  • milk - 1/2 c
  • chopped nuts - 1 2
  • cocoa
  • stick butter, melted - 1/2 item
  • miniature marshmallows - 1 item
  • sticks butter - 2 item
  • eggs, slightly beaten - 4 item
  • Add sugar and eggs
  • self-rising flour do not sift - 1/2 1

How to make mississippi mud cake:

Melt butter and cocoa. Add sugar and eggs. Add flour and nuts. Mix well. Pour into 13 x 9 x 2-inch pan. Bake at 325° for 20 to 25 minutes. After baking, while hot, cover top of cake lightly with marshmallows (you might have to put it back in the oven a few minutes to melt the marshmallows; they will still be formed but will spread once you start icing). Put chocolate icing on top of melted marshmallows.Chocolate Icing:1 box 10x sugar1/3 to 1/2 c. cocoa1/2 stick butter, melted1/2 c. milk1 tsp. vanilla
