Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 2 c
- shortening - 1 c
- eggs - 4 item
- flour
- salt - 1 tsp
- cocoa - 1/3 c
- nuts - 1 c
- vanilla - 1 tsp
- small marshmallows - 1 pkg
- Add eggs and beat
- stick margarine - 1 item
- box powdered sugar - 1 item
How to make mississippi mud cake:
Cream sugar and shortening. Add eggs and beat. Sift flour, cocoa and salt together and add to mix. Add vanilla and nuts; pour into greased and floured 9 x 13-inch pan. Bake at 300° for 35 minutes. Remove from oven and spread marshmallows evenly over cake. Return to oven for 5 minutes.Frosting:1/2 c. evaporated milk1 tsp. vanilla1/2 c. nuts1 stick margarine1/2 c. sugar1 box powdered sugar Mix well and spread over hot cake.
