  • heavy cream - 2/3 c
  • nuts - 1 c
  • cloves - 1 tsp
  • mincemeat - 1 c
  • Sift dry ingredients together and add alternately with 1/2 cup buttermilk

How to make mincemeat cake:

Cream butter and sugar; add beaten eggs. Sift dry ingredients together and add alternately with 1/2 cup buttermilk. Add the mincemeat and the nuts. Bake in 2 layers in a 375° oven. Frost with Caramel Frosting.Brown Caramel Frosting:1 1/2 c. sugar2/3 c. brown sugar2/3 c. heavy cream1/2 c. butter Mix well; cook over low flame for about 7 minutes. Cool slightly; add 1 teaspoon vanilla and beat to cool to spreading consistency.
