Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 1 c
- cinnamon - 1 tsp
- eggs - 3 item
- salt - 1/2 tsp
- flour - 2 c
- brown sugar - 2/3 c
- butter - 1 c
- nutmeg - 1 tsp
- soda - 1 tsp
- heavy cream - 2/3 c
- nuts - 1 c
- cloves - 1 tsp
- mincemeat - 1 c
- Sift dry ingredients together and add alternately with 1/2 cup buttermilk
How to make mincemeat cake:
Cream butter and sugar; add beaten eggs. Sift dry ingredients together and add alternately with 1/2 cup buttermilk. Add the mincemeat and the nuts. Bake in 2 layers in a 375° oven. Frost with Caramel Frosting.Brown Caramel Frosting:1 1/2 c. sugar2/3 c. brown sugar2/3 c. heavy cream1/2 c. butter Mix well; cook over low flame for about 7 minutes.
