Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 1/2 tsp
- pkg - 1 oz
- milk - 1 c
- butter or margarine - 2 Tbsp
- salt - 1/2 tsp
- water - 1/4 c
- baking powder - 1 Tbsp
- vegetable oil - 1/4 c
- egg - 1 item
- all-purpose flour - 1 c
- chopped onions - 1/2 c
- yellow corn meal - 1 c
- smoked sausage links - 1 lb
How to make mexican pie:
Mix oil, cornmeal, flour, sugar, baking powder, salt, milk and egg in a mixing bowl and set aside. In skillet, brown sausage, beans and water; bring to boil. Pour into 2-quart shallow baking dish (12 x 8 x 2-inch). Spoon corn meal mixture around edge of baking dish (evenly). Bake at 400° for 20 minutes or until done.
