Mashed potato rolls
Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 1/2 c
- salt - 1 tsp
- eggs, beaten - 2 item
- shortening - 2/3 c
- warm water - 1/2 c
- yeast - 1 pkg
- mashed potatoes - 1 c
- scalded milk - 1 c
- flour 1/2 plain and 1/2 rising - 5 c
How to make mashed potato rolls:
Dissolve yeast in warm water. Scald milk and add shortening, sugar, potatoes, eggs and salt. When mixture has cooled to lukewarm, add dissolved yeast and mix well. Add flour to make dough stiff. Knead thoroughly until smooth. Put in a large greased bowl. Refrigerate until wanted. Pinch off shape and let rise until double in size, 1 or 2 hours.
