Ingredients/Components

  • sugar - 3/4 c
  • salt - 1/2 tsp
  • butter - 5 Tbsp
  • cornstarch - 5 Tbsp
  • water
  • cold water - 2 Tbsp
  • boiling water - 1/2 c
  • egg whites - 3 item
  • can frozen lemonade - 1 oz
  • egg yolks save whites for meringue - 3 item
  • baked pie shell your favorite recipe - 1 item
  • Add egg yolks and salt

How to make lemon pie:

Mix sugar, cornstarch and water together in saucepan and cook until thickened. Add egg yolks and salt. Cook over low heat, stirring constantly. Remove from heat. Add butter and lemonade. Pour into baked pie shell and cool.Meringue:1 Tbsp. cornstarch2 Tbsp. cold water1/2 c. boiling water3 egg whites1/3 c. sugar In saucepan, mix cornstarch and 2 tablespoons cold water together. Add 1/2 cup boiling water. Cook until thick and clear. Let cool. Beat egg whites until firm, but not dry. Gradually add sugar. Add cornstarch mixture and beat. Spread on pie, making mounds. Bake at 400° for 10 minutes until lightly browned.
