- sugar - 1 c
- salt - 1 item
- flour
- eggs, beaten - 2 item
- baking powder - 1 tsp
- butter, melted - 1/4 lb
- walnuts, chopped - 1/2 c
- butter for pan - 1 item
- grated zest of lemon - 1 item
- Glaze: juice of 1 large lemon
How to make lemon nut bread:
Glaze: juice of 1 large lemon1/3 c. sugar Butter an 8 1/2 x 4 1/2 x 2 1/2-inch loaf pan. Preheat oven to 350°. Sift together flour and baking powder. Add eggs, butter, sugar, dash of salt, walnuts and lemon zest; beat well. Pour into prepared loaf pan. Bake for 50 minutes or until tester comes out clean. While bread is still hot, mix together lemon juice and sugar for the glaze; pour over bread. Then cool thoroughly before removing from pan.
