Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 3/4 c
- salt - 1/4 tsp
- cornstarch - 3 Tbsp
- water - 3/4 c
- margarine or butter - 1 Tbsp
- lemon juice - 1/3 c
- grated lemon peel - 1 tsp
- drops yellow food coloring if desired - 4 item
How to make lemon filling:
Mix sugar, cornstarch and salt in saucepan; stir in water gradually. Cook, stirring constantly, until mixture thickens and boils. Boil and stir 1 minute. Remove from heat; add lemon peel and margarine. Stir in lemon juice and food coloring; cool.
