Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 1/4 c
- egg yolks - 4 item
- pinch of salt - 1 item
- egg whites - 6 item
- can sweetened condensed milk - 1 item
- cream of tartar - 1/2 tsp
- lime juice - 1/2 c
- 9-inch baked pie shell - 1 item
How to make key lime pie:
Beat the egg yolks until lemon colored. Blend in the condensed milk and slowly add lime juice and salt; mix well. Add the cream of tartar to the egg whites and beat until foamy. Continue beating, adding sugar, one tablespoon at a time, until peaks form. Fold 6 tablespoons of the meringue into the filling mixture and pour into a baked pie shell.
