Ingredients/Components
- milk - 4 c
- corn meal - 1/3 c
- dark molasses - 3/4 c
- butter - 1/4 c
- salt
- ginger - 1 tsp
- sugar - 3 Tbsp
- well beaten egg - 1 item
- raisins - 1/2 c
- cinnamon - 1/2 tsp
How to make indian pudding:
Boil in top of double boiler the milk. Stir in corn meal. Cook 15 minutes, stirring often. Stir in dark molasses; cook 5 more minutes. Remove from heat; stir in butter, salt, ginger, sugar, egg, raisins and cinnamon. Pour into greased baking dish. Bake for 1 1/2 hours at 325°. Serve with vanilla ice cream or frozen yogurt.New England Colonial favorite that smells divine cooking! Is relatively healthy, as desserts go.
