  • corn meal
  • flour - 1/2 c
  • sugar - 1 Tbsp
  • salt - 1/2 tsp
  • egg - 1 item
  • milk - 3/4 c

How to make hush puppies:

Sift together dry ingredients. Add egg and milk to dry ingredients. Drop a teaspoon of batter for each hush puppy into hot deep fat. Cook a few at a time until golden brown.

You also can add 1/2 cup of chopped onions to batter.
