  • sugar - 2 tsp
  • salt
  • cold water - 1/4 c
  • buttermilk - 1/2 3/4
  • eggs, beaten - 2 item
  • baking powder - 3 tsp
  • baking soda - 1/2 tsp
  • all-purpose flour - 1 c
  • cornmeal - 2 c
  • small onion, finely chopped - 1 item
  • small can creamed corn - 1 item
  • melted bacon drippings - 1/2 c

How to make hush puppies:

Combine all dry ingredients. Blend in remaining ingredients. Drop by tablespoons into hot oil at 375°.
