Hush puppies

Ingredients/Components

• salt - 1 tsp
• flour - 1/2 c
• baking powder - 1 tsp
• baking soda - 1/4 tsp
• egg, beaten - 1 item
• garlic powder - 1/4 tsp
• onion salt - 1/4 tsp
• oil for frying - 1 item
• yellow corn meal - 1 c
• chopped green onion if desired - 2 Tbsp
• buttermilk may need more - 3/4 c

How to make hush puppies:

Mix all dry ingredients; add milk and egg. Add chopped green onions. Drop by spoonful into hot cooking oil.
