Ingredients/Components
- milk
- salt
- water - 1/2 c
- baking powder - 2 tsp
- egg, beaten - 1 item
- corn meal - 3 c
- onion, finely chopped or may use onion powder - 1 item
How to make hush puppies:
Beat together first 5 ingredients. Blend in egg and onion. With hands, mold mixture into little cakes, about 1 tablespoon each. Fry in about 1-inch deep fat until well browned. Drain on paper. Serve hot.Recipe categories: American, Side dish, Southern u.s..
