Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 3 Tbsp
- salt - 1 tsp
- flour - 3 c
- warm water - 1/2 c
- egg, beaten - 1 item
- yeast - 1 pkg
- milk, scalded - 1/2 c
- melted shortening/oil - 3 Tbsp
How to make hot rolls:
Stir yeast, sugar, salt and warm water in a bowl. Cool scalded milk to lukewarm and add to mixture. Add 1 cup of flour, 1 beaten egg and the melted shortening. Beat together. Add 2 cups of flour and beat. Let rise until double in bulk. Punch down and make into rolls. Let rise again. Bake in hot oven at about 375°.Recipe categories: Breads, Low cholesterol, Rolls/biscuits.
