Hot fruit compote
Ingredients/Components
- cinnamon - 1 tsp
- nutmeg - 1/2 tsp
- ginger - 1/2 tsp
- applesauce
- each: prunes, pears, peaches and pineapple - 1/2 c
- juice of 1/2 lemon and rind, optional
How to make hot fruit compote:
Combine fruits and applesauce and arrange in a casserole. Add cinnamon, ginger and nutmeg. Add juice of lemon (and rind). Mix fruits and cover. Bake at 250° for at least 1 hour. The longer it bakes the better it is.Other fruits may be substituted and either fresh or canned may be used. Serve hot.
