Ingredients/Components

  • pepper - 1/4 tsp
  • chopped green onions - 1/3 c
  • box hot roll mix - 1 item
  • Mozzarella or Provolone, shredded
  • pepperoni, sliced up - 4 oz
  • ham, sliced up - 4 oz
  • Ricotta, crumbled up - 4 oz
  • Fontina or Fontinella, shredded or chopped - 4 oz

How to make hot cheese loaf:

The Cheese:4 oz. Mozzarella or Provolone, shredded4 oz. Ricotta, crumbled up4 oz. Fontina or Fontinella, shredded or chopped Fontina and Fontinella, as well as Ricotta can be found at Roma Bakery. While there, check out the pastries.

You can substitute other cheeses if you wish for different effects.

To Prepare: Prepare hot roll mix according to the instructions on the box to the kneading process. Set aside for 5 minutes. Mix pepperoni, ham, cheese, green onions and pepper in a bowl.

On a lightly floured surface, flatten dough into a 12 x 9-inch rectangle. Spread filling in the center of the dough, then fold the ends over and, with moistened fingers, pinch seams together.

Put loaf, seam side down, on greased cookie sheet. Slice vents for steam to escape, cover with a towel and let sit for 10 minutes. After 10 minutes, brush dough with milk (this will make the dough brown in the oven). Place on top rack in preheated oven at 375° and bake for 20 minutes or until golden brown.
