Hot buttered rum
Ingredients/Components
- butter, softened - 1 lb
- brown sugar - 1 lb
- nutmeg - 2 tsp
- powdered sugar - 1 lb
- French vanilla ice cream - 1 qt
- cinnamon rum - 2 tsp
- boiling water or boiling apple cider - 6 oz
- cinnamon sticks if desired - 1 item
How to make hot buttered rum:
In large mixing bowl, let ice cream and butter stand at room temperature until soft. Beat together. Stir in sugar, nutmeg and cinnamon. Blend until smooth. Put in large plastic containers; cover and freeze. Mixture remains spoonable.To serve, spoon 3 tablespoons batter into a mug. Add a jigger of rum, 6 ounces boiling water or boiling apple cider and batter. If desired, use cinnamon sticks as stirrers. Makes 30 servings.
