Gumbo
Ingredients/Components
- water - 6 c
- lemon juice - 1 Tbsp
- Worcestershire sauce - 1 Tbsp
- chopped celery - 1/2 c
- parsley flakes - 1/2 c
- chopped green onions - 2 c
- olive oil - 1/4 c
- chicken bouillon cubes - 4 item
- clove garlic, chopped - 1 item
- chopped bell pepper - 1/2 c
- smoked sausage - 1 lb
- yellow onions - 1 c
- Louisiana hot sauce - 1 Tbsp
- boneless chicken, cut into bite size pieces - 1 lb
- prepared roux - 1 item
How to make gumbo:
Brown chicken and sausage in olive oil. Add remaining ingredients except water and roux. Cook until vegetables are tender. Add water and return mixture to a slow boil. Add prepared roux to obtain desired consistency. Adjust seasoning to taste. Simmer for 1 hour.Recipe categories: Main dish, Gumbo, Stew.
