Green bean supreme
Ingredients/Components
- pkg - 2 oz
- salt - 1/2 tsp
- flour - 1 Tbsp
- evaporated milk - 1 c
- margarine - 1/4 c
- margarine, melted - 2 Tbsp
- bread crumbs - 1/4 c
- Cheddar cheese, grated - 1 c
- minced onions - 2 Tbsp
How to make green bean supreme:
Cook green beans until tender (10 to 15 minutes). Melt margarine in a small saucepan. Saute onions until lightly brown. Stir in salt and flour. Gradually add evaporated milk. Cook over medium-high heat until thickened. Add cheese and cook until cheese melts. Combine cooked green beans and cheese sauce. Pour into 1 1/2-quart casserole dish. Combine bread crumbs and melted margarine; sprinkle over green bean mixture. Bake in a moderate 350° oven for 15 to 20 minutes.
