Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 1 c
- cinnamon - 1 tsp
- eggs - 2 item
- salt - 1/2 tsp
- chopped nuts - 1 c
- flour
- brown sugar - 1 c
- vanilla flavoring - 1 tsp
- evaporated milk - 1/4 c
- coconut - 1 c
- soda - 1 tsp
- boiling water
- margarine - 1/2 c
- quick cooking oats - 1 c
- margarine, melted - 1/4 c
- Cool completely
How to make oatmeal cake:
Place margarine, oats and water in a large bowl; stir well. Cool completely. Add remaining ingredients, stirring well. Pour into greased and floured 9 x 13-inch pan. Bake at 350° for 40 minutes. Let set out of oven for 5 minutes. Add topping.Topping:1 c. brown sugar1/4 c. margarine, melted1/4 c. evaporated milk1 c. coconut1 c. chopped nuts Blend sugar with margarine; add milk, coconut and nuts. Spread topping on cake.
