Grandma's chocolate cake

Ingredients/Components

• eggs - 2 item
• vanilla - 1 tsp
• flour - 2 c
• brown sugar - 1 c
• soda - 1 tsp
• cocoa - 1/2 c
• baking powder - 2 tsp
• white sugar - 1 c
• boiling hot water - 1 c
• lard or Crisco - 1/2 c
• sour or buttermilk - 1/2 c

How to make grandma's chocolate cake:

Sift together cocoa, flour, soda and baking powder. Set aside. In separate bowl, mix together sugars, eggs, lard or Crisco and milk. Add cocoa mixture; blend well. Add vanilla and hot water. Mix until well blended. Pour into greased and floured pan. Bake at 350° for 30 minutes.
