Ingredients/Components

  • sugar
  • salt - 1 tsp
  • flour - 2 c
  • cold water - 3/4 c
  • baking powder - 3 tsp
  • cream of tartar - 1/2 tsp
  • Mazola or Wesson oil - 1/2 c
  • unbeaten egg yolks - 7 item
  • vanilla or lemon - 2 tsp
  • egg whites, 7 or 8 - 1 c

How to make golden chiffon cake:

Step 1: Mix flour, sugar, baking powder and salt. Add oil, egg yolks, cold water and vanilla or lemon. Beat well.

Step 2: Beat egg whites and cream of tartar until very stiff. Fold into flour mixture and bake in tube pan. Bake at 325° for 55 minutes.
