German chocolate pound cake
Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 2 c
- eggs - 4 item
- vanilla - 2 tsp
- salt - 1 tsp
- soda - 1/2 tsp
- buttermilk - 1 c
- shortening - 1 c
- sifted all-purpose flour - 3 c
- German sweet chocolate - 1 pkg
- Adams butter flavor - 2 tsp
How to make german chocolate pound cake:
Cream sugar and shortening. Add eggs, flavors and buttermilk. Sift together flour, soda and salt; add. Mix well. Add German chocolate that has been softened in warm oven or in double boiler. Blend together well. Cook in 9-inch stem pan that has been well-greased and dusted with flour, about 1 1/2 hours at 300°. Test with toothpick. If done, toothpick will come out clean when inserted in cake's center.
