Ingredients/Components
- butter, softened - 3/4 c
- sugar - 3 Tbsp
- milk - 1 c
- flour
- cornstarch - 3 Tbsp
- egg yolks - 4 item
- powdered sugar - 1/2 c
- lemon juice - 1 tsp
- pineapple juice - 1 c
- mini chocolate chips - 1/4 1/2
- almond paste, crumbled optional - 1/6 c
- Beat butter then add sugar and almond paste, beat together then mix in flour to form dough
- rose water you could use 1/2 tsp - 1 tsp
- Cook over simmering water medium heat until thick, beating with a whisk the whole time
How to make fruit tart:
Preheat oven to 300°. Beat butter then add sugar and almond paste, beat together then mix in flour to form dough. Pat gently into the bottom of a 12-inch round or 9 x 13-inch pan and bake 20 to 25 minutes or until golden. Remove from oven and sprinkle with the chocolate chips. When they are soft spread evenly and let cool.Filling:1 c. cream1 c. milk3 Tbsp. cornstarch3 Tbsp. sugar1 tsp. rose water (you could use 1/2 tsp. real vanilla extract)4 egg yolks Beat egg yolks and combine with cream, milk, cornstarch, sugar and rose water in the top of a double boiler. Cook over simmering water (medium heat) until thick, beating with a whisk the whole time. Take off of heat and whisk over cold water until cool and fill tart shell.Fruit and Glaze:1 qt. strawberries or other fruit1 c. pineapple juice1/2 c. sugar2 Tbsp. cornstarch1 tsp. lemon juice Wash, hull and cut berries (or other fruit) as desired and arrange on filling.
