Ingredients/Components
- vegetable oil - 1 item
- tsp salt - 1/4 item
- tsp pepper - 1/4 item
- cup milk - 1/2 item
- cups sliced okra - 4 item
- cup cornmeal - 3/4 item
How to make fried okra:
Combine okra, milk, and seasonings in a shallow dish; let stand 1 hour or until most of milk is absorbed. Dredge in cornmeal. Fry okra in deep hot oil (375 degrees) until golden brown. Drain. Serve immediately. Serves 4.Recipe categories: Side dish, Vegetables, Southern u.s..
