How to make fried apple pies:

Crust:2 1/2 c. all-purpose flour1 tsp. salt1/2 c. butter flavor Crisco water (to make dough) flour (to roll dough) Put apples and 1 tablespoon butter in pot; cover and simmer on low to allow apples to cook down. Add spices to taste and sugar. Cool.

To make dough: Mix flour and salt in bowl; cut in shortening until mixture resembles fine crumbs. Add water slowly until dough forms. On floured surface, roll dough thin. Place saucer on dough and cut out dough circles. Use rolling pin to stretch circles slightly. Into center of each circle, put heaping spoon of cooled filling. Fold dough over to cover filling and make "half-moon" shaped pie. Seal edges with fork and puncture holes in top to allow air escape. Fry in oil on medium until brown on both sides (turn once). Drain and serve plain or with ice cream. Makes approximately 12 pies.

Can use 2 cans apple pie filling and add cinnamon to taste instead of making filling. Can use any canned fruit pie filling. Leftover filling can be frozen for later use. Can make pies and wrap in Saran Wrap; freeze and fry when wanted.
