Ingredients/Components
- fresh or frozen pitted tart red cherries - 4 c
- sugar - 1 c
- quick-cooking tapioca - 3 Tbsp
- shredded lemon peel - 1 tsp
- pastry for double crust pie - 1 item
- butter or margarine - 1 Tbsp
- salt - 1/8 tsp
How to make fresh cherry pie:
Combine cherries, sugar, tapioca, lemon peel and salt. Let stand for 20 minutes. Stir occasionally. Fill pie shell with cherry mixture. Dot with butter or margarine. Bake in 375° oven for 30 minutes or until golden brown.Recipe categories: Desserts, Pie, Pies and tarts.
