French toast
Ingredients/Components
- cinnamon - 1/2 tsp
- vanilla - 1 tsp
- egg whites - 4 item
- slices whole wheat bread - 6 item
- skim milk the juice of 1/2 orange, added is optional, but delicious! - 1 c
- All Fruit jam or mashed fresh fruit - 1 item
How to make french toast:
You also need dish for soaking bread, wire whisk or fork, griddle or Teflon frying pan, no-stick cooking spray and spatula.With wire whisk or fork, beat together egg whites, milk, vanilla and cinnamon. Pour egg mixture into a flat casserole dish. Add bread slices, one at a time. Let the bread absorb the egg mixture. Turn after a couple minutes. Let soak 2 more minutes. Spray griddle or skillet with cooking spray and heat over medium heat. Gently lift the bread with a spatula into skillet and cook until golden brown on each side. Serve topped with your choice of jam or jelly. Enjoy!
