Ingredients/Components

  • salt - 2 Tbsp
  • oil - 2/3 c
  • vinegar - 2/3 c
  • dill optional - 1 tsp
  • large onion, sliced thin - 1 item
  • cucumbers, sliced thin - 2 qt
  • sugar or 4 tsp - 2/3 c

How to make freezer pickles:

Combine cucumbers, salt and onion; let stand 2 hours. Drain well. Pack in freezer containers, leaving 1-inch headspace. Mix oil, vinegar, sugar and dill. Pour into containers to cover. Seal and freezer or refrigerate. Makes 2 quarts.
