  • salt - 1 tsp
  • shortening - 1 c
  • egg - 1 item
  • water - 6 Tbsp

How to make flaky pastry:

Sift flour with salt. Cut shortening into flour. Beat the egg with 5 tablespoons water. Add to flour mixture. Use remainder of water, if necessary. Makes 3 pie shells.
