Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 1 Tbsp
- salt - 2 tsp
- flour - 4 c
- cold water - 1/2 c
- egg - 1 item
- vinegar - 1 Tbsp
- shortening
How to make flaky pastry:
Mix dry ingredients. Cut in shortening. Combine egg, vinegar and water and stir into dry ingredients until all is moistened. Shape into a ball. Cover and chill thoroughly. This makes five 9-inch crusts. (This freezes well.)Recipe categories: Low sodium, Main dish, Savory pies.
