Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 1 Tbsp
- salt - 2 tsp
- flour - 4 c
- water - 1/2 c
- egg - 1 item
- vinegar - 1 Tbsp
- shortening
How to make flaky pastry:
Mix together flour, sugar and salt. Cut shortening into flour mixture. Beat egg, water and vinegar together. Blend with fork into dry ingredients. Chill crust 15 minutes before rolling. Makes enough for 2 double crust pies.Recipe categories: Low sodium, Main dish, Savory pies.
