Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 2 Tbsp
- salt - 2 tsp
- tapioca - 6 Tbsp
- carrots - 8 item
- potatoes - 8 item
- pepper to taste - 1 item
- ribs celery - 4 item
- stew meat - 4 lb
- large cans tomatoes - 2 item
- tomato cans water - 2 item
- small onions use less if desired - 2 item
How to make five hour beef stew:
Spread the stew meat over the bottom of a roaster or Dutch oven. Cut the carrots, celery, potatoes and onions into large pieces. Arrange them over the meat. Pour the canned tomatoes over all, then pour the cans of water over the tomatoes. Sprinkle with the tapioca and seasoning. Cover and bake at 275° for 4 hours. (There is no reason to look during this time.) Then, remove the cover and bake 1 hour more (this thickens the stew).Recipe categories: Main dish, One Dish meal, Stew.
