How to make dough for fried pies:
Sift dry ingredients together. Cut in butter with knife or blender until it resembles coarse crumbs. Mix egg yolk and milk; stir in flour, adding only enough to hold the dough together. Shape into a ball. Wrap in wax paper and chill 1 hour. Roll out to 1/16-inch thick. Place 1 1/2 tablespoons filling in center and fold over. Moisten edges with cold water. Press with fork. Fry at 315° for 2 or 3 minutes on each side in hot oil.Recipe categories: Desserts, Pies and tarts, Low protein.
