- sugar - 1 c
- vanilla - 1 tsp
- salt - 1/2 tsp
- flour - 1 c
- stick margarine - 1 item
- egg yolks - 4 item
- baking powder - 3 tsp
- dates - 1 lb
- shelled pecans - 3 lb
How to make date nut cake:
Cream sugar and margarine; add egg yolks one at a time, then add vanilla. Sift flour, baking powder and salt together. Then sift over nuts and dates. Mix this to cream mixture. Last, add 4 stiffly beaten egg whites. Pour into greased tube pan. Bake at 250° for 1 hour and 40 minutes. Cool in pan.Recipe categories: Desserts, Cakes, < 60 mins.
