Ingredients/Components
- granulated sugar - 1/4 c
- vanilla extract - 1/2 tsp
- salt - 1/2 tsp
- brown sugar - 1/4 c
- baking powder - 2 tsp
- boiling water - 3/4 c
- all-purpose flour - 2 c
- egg, beaten - 1 item
- shelled walnuts, chopped - 1/2 c
- pitted dates, coarsely chopped - 1 c
- sweet butter, cut into 6 chunks - 4 Tbsp
How to make date-nut bread:
Preheat oven to 350° and grease a 9 x 5 x 3-inch pan. Place butter in a large mixing bowl. Place dates on top and pour both sugars over. Pour boiling water over ingredients in the boil.
