Danish pastry apple bars

- sugar - 3/4 1
- cinnamon - 1 tsp
- milk - 2/3 c
- salt - 1 tsp
- shortening - 1 c
- sifted flour
- egg yolk - 1 item
- egg white - 1 item
- cornflakes - 1 c
- Cut in shortening
How to make danish pastry apple bars:
Combine flour and salt. Cut in shortening. Beat egg yolk in measuring cup. Add milk to make 2/3 cup. Mix well. Stir into flour mixture. On floured surface, roll half the dough to 17 x 17-inch rectangle. Fit into and up sides of 15 1/2 x 10 1/2 x 1-inch baking pan. Sprinkle cornflakes on dough. Top with apples, sugar and cinnamon. Roll remaining dough to 15 1/2 x 10 1/2-inch rectangle. Place over apples. Seal edges. Cut slits on top. Beat egg white; spread on crust. Bake at 375° for 50 minutes. Drizzle glaze on top.
