Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 3/4 1
- cinnamon - 1 tsp
- milk - 1 item
- salt - 1 tsp
- flour
- shortening - 1 c
- powdered sugar
- egg yolk - 1 item
- egg white - 1 item
- sliced apples - 8 c
- cornflakes - 1 c
How to make apple bars:
Topping:1 c. powdered sugar3 to 4 tsp. milk Combine flour and salt. Cut in shortening. Beat egg yolk in a measuring cup. Add milk to make 2/3 cup of liquid. Add to flour mixture.Roll one-half of dough to fit 15 x 10 x 1-inch cookie sheet (jelly roll pan). Sprinkle crumbled cornflakes on top of dough and top with the apples. Combine sugar and cinnamon and sprinkle on top. Roll remaining dough; place over apples and seal edges. Cut slits on top. Beat egg white until foamy and brush on top. Bake at 375° for 50 minutes.
Topping: Drizzle over top while warm.
