Ingredients/Components
- butter flavor Crisco - 2/3 c
- sugar - 3/4 c
- plus 1 tsp - 1 Tbsp
- vanilla - 1 tsp
- egg - 1 item
- all-purpose flour - 2 c
- baking powder
- salt - 1/4 tsp
- Beat in egg
- 4 c - 1 lb
- milk - 1/3 c
How to make cutout sugar cookies:
Cream Crisco, sugar, milk and vanilla in large bowl at medium speed of electric mixer until well blended. Beat in egg. Combine flour, baking powder and salt. Mix into creamed mixture. Cover and refrigerate several hours or overnight or roll half the dough out on a floured surface. Cut into shapes. Place 2 inches apart on ungreased baking sheet. Sprinkle with colored sugar or leave plain to frost. Food coloring can be added to dough for a colored cookie. Bake at 375° about 7 to 9 minutes. This recipe can be doubled.Creamy Frosting:1/2 c. Crisco1 lb. (4 c.) confectioners sugar1/3 c. milk1 tsp. vanilla Combine in medium bowl at low speed of mixer until well blended. Scrape bowl.
