Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 1/2 c
- vanilla - 1/2 tsp
- salt - 1/4 tsp
- nutmeg - 1 item
- eggs, slightly beaten - 4 item
- milk, scalded - 3 c
- recipe plain pastry - 1/2 item
How to make custard pie:
Combine eggs, salt and sugar. Add milk and vanilla slowly. Line pie pan with pastry, pour in filling and sprinkle top with nutmeg. Bake in hot oven at 450° for 10 minutes. Reduce temperature to slow (325°) and bake 30 to 40 minutes longer or unRecipe categories: Desserts, Pie, Pies and tarts.
