Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 1 c
- vanilla - 1 tsp
- salt - 1/4 tsp
- butter
- nutmeg - 1/4 tsp
- eggs, slightly beaten - 4 item
- milk, scalded - 4 c
- day old bread or other bread cubes - 2 c
- coarsely chopped pecans if desired - 1/2 1
How to make bread pudding:
Heat oven to 350°. In large bowl, soak bread in milk 5 minutes. Add sugar, butter, salt, eggs and vanilla; mix well. Stir in pecans. Pour into a 1 1/2-quart baking dish. Sprinkle with nutmeg.
