Crusty cornbread
Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 1 Tbsp
- salt - 1/2 tsp
- flour - 1/2 c
- soda - 1/2 tsp
- buttermilk - 1 c
- baking powder - 1 Tbsp
- shortening - 1/4 c
- egg, beaten - 1 item
- cornmeal yellow - 1 c
How to make crusty cornbread:
Combine first 6 ingredients; mix well. Place shortening in cast-iron skillet. Heat at 425° for 5 minutes. Remove from oven; pour hot shortening into batter. Mix well.
